Making a giant Rice Krispie Heart is such a fun way to add a little love to your home.
We’ve found a few tricks which make it simple, quick, and fun.
Here’s how we do it.
Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- 10 ounce bag of marshmallows
- 6 cups of Rice Krispies
- colorful sprinkles
- wax paper
The first tip is to use a heart shaped mold pan. You can buy one here. We use ours for everything from brownies, to cookies, to pizza.Spray the bottom with Pam cooking spray.
TRICK: Lay the sprinkles down into the pan next.
If you try to add them to the top of the Rice Krispie at the end, THEY FALL OFF. So put them in the pan before you lay the Rice Krispie mix.Melt the butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until fully melted. Remove from heat. Add cereal and stir until mixed well. Put mixture into heart shaped mold.
Tip: Use Wax Paper to press mixture down into the sprinkled pan. The Wax Paper will keep mixture from sticking. You can also use a spatula covered in cooking spray. At this point, my kids and sprinkle it with imaginary love….our final ingredient.
After it has cooled and set, flip it out onto a platter.
The bottom will become the top which is festively covered in sprinkles which are now embedded into the treat.Clean up is simple because there is little sticky left on the pan.
This makes for an adorable gift wrapped in clear cellophane paper with a big red bow for a teacher, neighbor, or special someone.Have a lovely day!
